As an agency, Facebook’s Business Manager is incredibly powerful. It means we can get access to all our client accounts and pages under one roof, and assign access for the appropriate team members for the accounts they are working on.

How to Connect Facebook Business Manager

For internal teams the benefits are similar, but most importantly it means your pages and ad accounts are not tied into a staff members personal account. Should someone leave, you don’t then have the nightmare of having to regain control of your page – something so many businesses end up finding themselves having to do.

However, getting started and connecting all your assets is less than intuitive, and questions around how to do it are probably amongst the more common queries we get from new clients. Frustratingly, many people find themselves struggling to just get started.

Thankfully, once you’ve got your head around the purpose Business Manager serves and generally how it works, it’s incredibly easy to get to a point where everything you need is organised neatly within your control.

Getting Started

Once you’ve decided this is the right thing for your business (trust me, it is) then getting yourself a Business Manager is super easy. Simply head to the link below and follow the simple sign-up process:

Once you’ve completed the set-up process, you will then have a Business Manager account linked to your Facebook profile. But I thought the point was to NOT have my business assets linked to my personal account? Yes, that’s true – although your business manager is linked to your personal account, you should see it as a separate entity.

Assigning administration access to other people is very easy indeed, so should you ever move onto another business, handing over the reins couldn’t be easier. We’ll cover that more later in the article.

Assigning Ad Accounts

Now you’re all set-up, the next thing you will need to do is start assigning your business assets to your account. It’s worth pointing out that in many cases you can either grant access, or claim ‘ownership’. The choice here really depends on your circumstances.

I already have an Ad Account – This is the most common situation, where businesses are essentially looking to re-organise and tidy up their set up. It’s also the situation agencies find themselves in, as typically you are requiring access to a pre-existing ad account.

Connecting Ad Accounts to Facebook Business Manager

In these cases, to get access you will need to navigate to ‘business settings’, then ‘ad accounts’, and then select ‘Add’. Once you’ve done that you will be faced with three options; claim an account (i.e claim ownership), request access, or create a new ad account. To request access (the most common scenario), either type in the ad account ID or send your client / account owner your new business manager ID. The owner of the account can then approve your request and you should be good to go!

I don’t yet have an Ad Account – in this case, you will simply need to select the ‘create a new account’ when faced with the three options above. If you take this option, your business manager will then ‘own’ the ad account until such time as you need to pass on ownership.

Once you’ve got the above sorted, you should see the account appear in your list of ad accounts within the ‘Business Settings’ page.

Assigning Pages

Linking up Facebook pages to your business manager follows a very similar process to connecting ad accounts. If you’re looking to run another companies ad account, it’s worth pointing out that you will also need ‘page advertiser’ access to their page in order to publish ads.

Again, simply navigate to ‘Business Settings’, then ‘Pages’ and then click on the ‘Add’ button. Once you’ve arrived at that point you then have the option to claim a page, request access, or create a new page.

Connecting Your Page to Facebook Business Manager

It’s worth pointing out here that if your companies Facebook page was originally set up by an individual, sometimes transferring ownership can be less than easy. You will definitely need to make sure the page admin is available to approve the request in order for you to be able to transfer the ownership into your business manager.

If you’re no longer in contact with the original page admin then granting access and control is going to be tough. Annoyingly, Facebook are not that helpful in resolving these types of issues, so you will most likely need to sort the problem out on your end.

Assigning People

Connecting team members up is often where a lot of people get confused. The general process is as follows:

Step one – invite people to join your business manager (they’ll then receive an email with instructions)

Step two – assign the appropriate level of access. Do they need to administer the business manager settings, or simply work on a few select accounts?

Step three – assign assets to the appropriate people (i.e pages, ad accounts, pixels etc)

Assigning Staff Roles in Facebook Business Manager

Typically, where most people get stuck is on the final stage. Once you have successfully requested access to the ad accounts and pages you need, don’t forget to then assign your team members to those accounts. If you miss that stage, you won’t be able to access the accounts even though they have been connected to your business manager. Doh!

Connecting Pixels, Catalogues and More

The same type of process described above for ad accounts and pages is also true for any asset required for your Facebook marketing. Within Business Manager, you are able to control and manage:

  • Instagram Accounts
  • Facebook Pixels
  • Catalogues
  • Offline Event Sets
  • Custom Conversions
  • Shared Audiences

With data sources such as pixels and catalogues, you will need the original owner to assign you as a partner (assuming you are not starting with a brand new data source).

Connecting Facebook Catalogues in Business Manager

If these assets are owned by another business manager this process is easy – the owner in question will just need to navigate to ‘Business Settings’, find the data source and then assign your business manager as a partner. Again, if the pixel or catalogue has been set up via a personal account the process can be somewhat more tricky.

What if Someone Leaves?

Perhaps this is the biggest issue a business will face on the topic of account access. A long-term member of staff has successfully established your page, set up your ad account, and then they leave.

If you’ve got the organisation correct through Business Manager then instead of having to fix every detail up at the last minute, all you will need to do is ensure the admin access is handed over, and access for that member of staff revoked. Simple!

What Happens to My Friends and Followers When I Convert to a Business Page?

  • Once your new Page is published:
  • Your profile's followers, friends and friend requests will get notified that you've created a new Business Page.
  • The profile Followers you choose will automatically follow the new Business Page and will be removed from following your profile.
  • Friends and pending friend requests you select will automatically like and follow the new Business Page and won't be removed from your profile.

 

Notes:

  • You can preview all changes before publishing your new Business Page.

What is a Facebook page?

To create a Facebook page:

You must already have your own Facebook account before you can create a Facebook Page. If you don't have an account, review our lesson on getting started with Facebook.

  1. Click the drop-down arrow on the toolbar, then select Create Page.
  2. Choose either Business or Brand or Community or Public Figure as your Page category.
  3. Enter a Page Name and Category, then click Continue.

6. Next you can add images. Click Add Profile Picture or Add Cover Photo to upload photos from your device. Hit Save at the bottom.

7. A pop-up may appear asking if you want to connect your page to WhatsApp. If you want to, enter your phone number and click Send Code. If you don't want to, click the "X" icon in the top-right corner of the pop-up. 

8. Your new Facebook page is now created, and you can continue customizing it to your liking. 

Additional set-up tips 

Before you write your page's first post, be sure to update your page with additional information for your business.

1. Make a call to action

Add a call-to-action button to your business page by clicking Add a Button at the top-right of your page. Choose an action from the available options. You can have visitors book appointments, contact you through Facebook Messenger, download your app, and more.

2. Choose a page username

Choose a page username by clicking Create @username under your cover photo and page name. This username will become the web address for your business page (e.g. facebook.com/businessinsider).

3. Enter upcoming events

To add upcoming public events, click the Events tab at the top of your page and select Create New Event in the top-right of the Upcoming Events section.

Quick tip: Make it easy for your future fans to find information about your business's scheduled events. Fans of your page can show interest in your events by clicking a button to indicate their intention to attend.

4. Update the About section

To get to the About section, click the More tab at the top of your page, beneath your page name. In the More drop-down, select About. Here you can add a location, business hours, price range, contact information, and more.

5. Add page roles

In the sidebar menu on the left, click Settings, then click Page roles to assign roles to other coworkers or brand managers. 

In the Assign a new page role section, enter a name or email address into the textbox and in the drop-down menu on the right, select a role: admin, editor, moderator, advertiser, or analyst. Click Add when you're done.

6. Explore publishing tools

Facebook has built-in scheduling tools that allow you to plan and publish your posts according to a schedule of your choosing. These tools help you automate the process of posting updates. You can save draft versions of your posts here as well.

7. Convert a personal profile to a business page

If you have been using a personal Facebook profile for your business, you can convert it to a business page using Facebook's conversion wizard. 

While the process is called a conversion, it actually copies your personal profile to a page. Your personal profile will remain intact and a new page based on that profile will be created. You can update the newly created page as you would a page created from scratch.

8. Select page visibility

Facebook pages are published as soon as they are created. This means an incomplete page would be visible to the public as soon as it's created. 

If you would prefer to work on your page in private before making it available to the public, you can update its visibility from the page settings menu — click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar menu on the left, and on the General tab, click Page visibility to unpublish your page.

This will prevent the page from being available until you're ready to publish it again. Remember to update the visibility setting when you are ready to publish it.

If you’re still not there, you’d better get a move on, because I am willing to bet your competition is there, since there are more than 60 million active business pages, many of which use Facebook ads to reach their audience. Even though the network is one of the most popular websites online today, there are some people out there who still don’t have a profile on the network. Statistics show half of people who don’t have a Facebook live with someone who does, and use their account to browse the site.

You Must Have a Personal Account to Create a Facebook Business Page

While you used to be able to create a Facebook Page without a personal account, as of 2018, the rules have changed. Before, all you had to do was sign up for a Facebook Business account and you could create a page with relative ease and speed. Unlike a personal account, you could not have friends and view personal profiles. Because of issues with advertising campaigns and bots, Facebook has had to make some changes to the way they operate, so the Business account option no longer exists.

 In an effort to increase transparency in advertising, Facebook now requires a personal account be attached to all business pages. You cannot create a new Facebook business page unless there is a personal account attached to it. This is because Facebook requires all pages to have an administrator who can manage the profile and assign roles to other individuals in a company for other admins and contributors. This is only available by connecting the page to an admin’s personal account.

That means you can control your ad accounts, your pages, your pixels, your catalogues and manage admin tasks such employee access without having to work across a jumble of personal accounts.

To give you an idea, here are some of the issues we see all the time that when set up correctly Facebook’s business manager solves:

  • Ad accounts running via personal profiles (and therefore owned and administered by one individual)
  • Successful pages no longer accessible due to page admin leaving the business
  • Ad accounts set up and owned by agencies / freelancers that have since stopped working on the account

As an agency, Facebook’s Business Manager is incredibly powerful. It means we can get access to all our client accounts and pages under one roof, and assign access for the appropriate team members for the accounts they are working on.

How to Connect Facebook Business Manager

For internal teams the benefits are similar, but most importantly it means your pages and ad accounts are not tied into a staff members personal account. Should someone leave, you don’t then have the nightmare of having to regain control of your page – something so many businesses end up finding themselves having to do.

However, getting started and connecting all your assets is less than intuitive, and questions around how to do it are probably amongst the more common queries we get from new clients. Frustratingly, many people find themselves struggling to just get started.

Thankfully, once you’ve got your head around the purpose Business Manager serves and generally how it works, it’s incredibly easy to get to a point where everything you need is organised neatly within your control.

Getting Started

Once you’ve decided this is the right thing for your business (trust me, it is) then getting yourself a Business Manager is super easy. Simply head to the link below and follow the simple sign-up process:

Once you’ve completed the set-up process, you will then have a Business Manager account linked to your Facebook profile. But I thought the point was to NOT have my business assets linked to my personal account? Yes, that’s true – although your business manager is linked to your personal account, you should see it as a separate entity.

Assigning administration access to other people is very easy indeed, so should you ever move onto another business, handing over the reins couldn’t be easier. We’ll cover that more later in the article.

Assigning Ad Accounts

Now you’re all set-up, the next thing you will need to do is start assigning your business assets to your account. It’s worth pointing out that in many cases you can either grant access, or claim ‘ownership’. The choice here really depends on your circumstances.

I already have an Ad Account – This is the most common situation, where businesses are essentially looking to re-organise and tidy up their set up. It’s also the situation agencies find t mobile name id app in, as typically you are requiring access to a pre-existing ad account.

Connecting Ad Accounts to Facebook Business Manager

In these cases, to get access you will need to navigate to ‘business settings’, then ‘ad accounts’, and then select ‘Add’. To request access (the most common scenario), either type in the ad account ID or send your client / account owner your new business manager ID. Assigning Pages

Linking up Facebook pages to your business manager follows a very similar process to connecting ad accounts. If you’re looking to run another companies ad account, it’s worth pointing out that you will also need ‘page advertiser’ access to their page in order to publish ads.

Again, simply navigate to ‘Business Settings’, then ‘Pages’ and then click on the ‘Add’ button. Once you’ve arrived at that point you then have the option to claim a page, request access, or create a new page.

Connecting Your Page to Facebook Business Manager

It’s worth pointing out here that if your companies Facebook page was originally set up by an individual, sometimes transferring ownership can be less than easy. You will definitely need to make sure the page admin is available to approve the request in order for you to be able to transfer the ownership into your business manager.

If you’re no longer in contact with the original page admin then granting access and control is going to be tough. Annoyingly, Facebook are not that helpful in resolving these types of issues, so you will most likely need to sort the problem out on your end.

Assigning People

Connecting team members up is often where a lot of people get confused. The general process is as follows:

Step one – invite people to join your business manager (they’ll then receive an email with instructions)

Step two – assign the appropriate level of access. Do they need to administer the business manager settings, or simply work on a few select accounts?

Step three – assign assets to the appropriate people (i.e pages, ad accounts, pixels etc)

Assigning Staff Roles in Facebook Business Manager

Typically, where most people get stuck is on the final stage. Once you have successfully requested access to the ad accounts and pages you need, don’t forget to then assign your team members to those accounts. If you miss that stage, you won’t be able to access the accounts even though they have been connected to your business manager. Doh!

Connecting Pixels, Catalogues and More

The same type of process described above for ad accounts and pages is also true for any asset required for your Facebook marketing. Within Business Manager, you are able to control and manage:

  • Instagram Accounts
  • Facebook Pixels
  • Catalogues
  • Offline Event Sets
  • Custom Conversions
  • Shared Audiences

With data sources such as pixels and catalogues, you will need the original owner to assign you as a partner (assuming you are not starting with a brand new data source).

Connecting Facebook Catalogues in Business Manager

If these assets are owned by another business manager this process is easy – the owner in question will just need to navigate to ‘Business Settings’, find the data source and then assign your business manager as a partner. Again, if the pixel or catalogue has been set up via a personal account the process can be somewhat more tricky.

What if Someone Leaves?

Perhaps this is the biggest issue a business will face on the topic of account access. A long-term member of staff has successfully established your page, set up your ad account, and then they leave.

If you’ve got the organisation correct through Business Manager then instead of having to fix every detail up at the last minute, all you will need to do is ensure the admin access is handed over, and access for that member of staff revoked. Simple!

Establishing Your Profile and Page Admins

Before creating your Facebook fan page, you must establish a personal Facebook profile. The individual in that profile is the creator of the fan page. Many people are nervous about mixing their personal information with their business information, but the two are conceptually separate. You’ll interact with the business page as the business, and on your personal profile as yourself. Only administrators and the owner of the page can see other page admins. Thus, when I interact on my Facebook page, (Anti) Social Development, I post as that company and not as Kim Woodbridge. People who interact with my company page don’t see my personal profile.

If you aren’t going to be the only person working on your business’s Facebook page, you’ll need to select admins. To do this, fill in the appropriate data in the ‘Edit Page’ section under ‘Manage Admins&rsquo. The admins either must be Facebook friends of yours, or must be identified by the email address they use for Facebook.

The admins you designate won’t need your login to access the page, and once they log in as admins, they’ll have access to page-editing features. For example, I’m an admin on a number of business pages and can access all of them by logging into Facebook, so I don’t need anyone else’s login data.

Be careful, however, to add only people you trust as admins. Any admin can remove any other admin, even the owner of the page—a structural flaw that Facebook needs to address. If you add a developer or other person to work on your page temporarily, I recommend removing that person from admin status as soon as the job is done.

Facebook does offer what it calls a business account, but this option is very limited and I don’t recommend it. A business account doesn’t allow you to install Facebook apps, so you can’t add a custom page made with iframes or third-party tools, as discussed throughout this article. For that reason, I don’t recommend using a business account.

Creating a Facebook Page

From your Facebook profile page, click the Pages header in the left-side navigation. Next, click the Create a Page button, and select the type of page—Local Business or Place, for example, or Brand or Product. You’ll see a number of fields to fill out, such as your business category, name, and address.

Next, click the Get Started button, and Facebook will guide you through the rest of the setup process, step by step. If you skip any of those steps, you can fill them out later on a new page in the Facebook Welcome section, which only page admins will see.

Information to Include

When Facebook walks you through the initial steps, it will request information about your business—a logo for the page avatar, details for the About section, contact information and hours, and the URL of your website.

If you want Facebook to pull in your blog posts automatically, an application such as Networked Blogs can help. Each time you publish a new post to your blog, Networked Blogs will import the post and add it to the Wall of your Facebook business page.

Among the Facebook applications that come with your page by default are Photos, Links, Events, Notes, and Video. You can’t remove the default applications, but you can set them not to appear in the left-side page navigation.

After completing the first steps, you’ll want to customize the public appearance of your Facebook page with a design appropriate for your business.

Building Your Custom Page: DIY or Hire a Pro?

When you create a custom Facebook page, it appears as an additional page along the left side of the page navigation. A custom page includes your own text, images, videos, newsletter sign-up, and so forth—all specific to your business and branding. You can designate a custom page to be the default page that people see, in place of your Wall.

A custom page will allow your business to stand out from others. People are 40 to 50 percent more likely to like your page and become a fan if you have a custom tab as opposed to the generic standard Facebook page, according to BrandGlue, which tested a Facebook fan page with the custom tab on and again with it off. A custom page lets you can add branding and increase customer engagement.

Should you create your own custom page or hire a professional? Here are some factors to consider:

• Do you have time to create a custom page?

• Do you have a server to host your page on, if you plan to build the page with iframes?

• Do you know HTML? Many third-party applications require at least a basic knowledge of HTML, and you must know it to build a custom page with iframes.

If your answer to any of these questions is no, you should hire a professional. Otherwise, go ahead and create your own custom page.

Building a Custom Page With a Third-Party App

Various third-party applications are available for creating a custom Facebook page. They are useful if you don’t know HTML or you don’t have a Web server but you want to dress up your page with images and text in a custom layout.

One such tool is Pagemodo, a simple WYSIWYG editor that lets you create a layout and edit sections by clicking on each part and adding the content. You can also easily change fonts and colors via the online editor. Pagemodo doesn’t require any knowledge of HTML; it has a point-and-type interface, and a version containing all of the tool’s basic features is free.

Third-party applications like Pagemodo are easy to use, and they let you quickly craft a custom page. But they lack the design flexibility of a page created with iframes, and they leave you dependent on them. If a free service suddenly decides to charge a fee or goes out of business, you’ll be out of luck. DIY types will also prefer to build their own page.

To get started with Pagemodo, go to its website, and click Start Now! Connect With Facebook. A standard ‘Request for Permission’ pop-up box will appear; click Allow. If you have more than one Facebook page, a pop-up box will ask you to select the page that you want to add the tab to. Alternatively, you can click a link to set up a new Facebook page. Click the Choose button. The site will then present you with an array of templates to choose from in creating your page. Most of the templates are free, but some are available only with the paid version of Pagemodo.

To create a custom page with Pagemodo, first select a theme and then modify it by selecting the layout and colors you want to use. Selections made on the left will appear on the right. Now you’re ready to edit content. Open the Edit Content tab, and click any element on the right side of the page in order to edit it. For example, click an image area to upload an image there.

Pagemodo’s ‘Like Gate’ feature is available only with paid accounts. It requires vistors to ‘Like’ your page before they can see its content. Businesses frequently use this arrangement in connection with coupons or other special offers, but it’s unnecessary if you don’t plan to offer those to customers.

The Publish step is where you select a name for your custom page tab, and where you can share the page with friends or fans. If you’re using the free service, you’ll have to ‘Like’ Pagemodo’s Facebook page, and a link to Pagemodo will appear at the bottom of your custom Facebook page. The app will display a final preview of the page so you can edit it before publishing. Once you publish the custom page, it will appear live on your Facebook fan page.

Build Your Own Custom Page With Iframes

An iframe is code used to pull content from one website into another.

You’ve probably seen them used with Google Maps and Calendars. For instance, you can pull a Google map of your business location into your Web page via iframe code. Facebook uses similar code in its iframe application, allowing you to pull a Web page you’ve created into a custom Facebook page.

To build a custom page with iframes, you must know HTML and have experience with creating Web pages and uploading them to a Web server.

Start by creating an HTML, PHP, or other type of Web page and uploading it to your Web server. If you already have a business website, you’re good to go, though you may need to adjust a page to satisfy Facebook’s size restrictions. Facebook has established a maximum permissible width of 520 pixels, and pages work best at between 480 and 500 pixels wide. The iframe application will later import the page you made into Facebook.

Once you’ve created the page to import into Facebook, you’ll need to create the iframe application. You perform this step at the Facebook Developers site, a subsection of Facebook. If you’ve never used the Developers site before, you may need to create a new account using your existing Facebook login. Click Apps in the top navigation bar, and then click the Create New App button. After you create the app, you’ll be on its basic settings page. It should already have your email address filled in and provide you with an application ID and application secret ID.

To add your own custom icon to the page, click the Edit icon within Facebook. You’ll find the icon in the left-side navigation next to the name of your custom Facebook page.

In the ‘Basic Info’ section, fill out the App Display Name field. This is the name of your custom page within the Developer’s area, the name of your application in your Edit Page area (as discussed below), and the name of your custom page. You can rename your custom page in the Edit Page area, meaning that you don’t have to display the name that appears in how do i create a facebook account for my business ‘App Display Name’ field on your Facebook page.

Next, click the App on Facebook section and fill out the Canvas URL field. (Starting on October convert snb to pdf, filling out this field will be mandatory.) Now go to the section at the bottom called ‘Page Tab’ and create your Page Tab Name.

You must also identify the ‘Page Tab URL’—the full URL to the page you created, such as http://yourdomain.com/facebook/demo.html. (Starting in October, you’ll need a secure Page Tab URL.)

On the left, under ‘Settings, Advanced’, are the ‘Canvas Settings’, which determine page width and height. You should be fine with the default values, so save your changes. On the left side of the page, under ‘Related Links’, click View App Profile. From that page, click Add to My Page. If you administer more than one Facebook page, select the correct one.

Go to your Facebook page and click the Edit Page button at the top right. Select Apps in the links along the left side. Locate the app that you just created, and then click Edit Settings to add the tab to your page. (Select Edit Settings a second time if you want to rename the tab.)

Remember that the Facebook page, via an iframe, is importing content that you’ve uploaded separately to your Web server. If you want to change the content on the Facebook page, you must first edit the file that you created for your website and then re-upload it to your Web server.

SSL Requirements

As of October 1, all Facebook applications will be required to have SSL certificates to ensure secure browsing over Facebook. Since Facebook considers a custom page created with iframes to be an application, the server that your page is hosted on must have a SSL certificate; otherwise, people won’t be able to view your page. Ask your Web host for more information about SSL certificates and their cost. Once you have the certificate, fill out Facebook’s Secure Canvas URL and Secure Page Tab URL fields for your application.

Other Third-Party Apps for Facebook Pages

Various other third-party applications can help you build a custom Facebook page. Be sure to review the cost and the requirements of each before selecting one. Not all of them are free, and many require at least a little www berkshire bank of HTML.

Wildfire is best known for its applications that allow you to run a contest or sweepstakes on Facebook, but the service also has a custom page tool. It is currently free but Wildfire plans to charge for it in the future. Apparently, free users will be grandfathered in to the paid version.

There are a number of questions to ask when hiring a professional to create your custom Facebook page. First, ask to see a portfolio of the person’s work. Even designers who don’t have a lot of experience should have created some sample pages.

Other questions to ask: Will the designer be hosting the page, or do you need your own server? How will SSL be handled? Will the designer create the graphics or will you be responsible for providing them?

Managing Your Page

You’ll manage your Facebook page in Facebook’s ‘Edit Page’ section, which includes a number of tools and useful resources. From your Facebook page, click the Edit Page button, which defaults to the ‘Manage Permissions’ screen.

Your Settings: This section includes posting preferences—which determine whether the page or the personal profile will make wall posts—and email notifications.

Insights: Facebook pages statistics appear in this section, which we’ll discuss in more detail in the next section.

Checking Page Statistics

Facebook provides basic statistics about traffic and visitors to your page in the Insights section of the Edit Page.

The Insights section consists of three subsections: Overview, Users, and Interactions.

Overview: The overview subsection displays ‘New Likes’, ‘Lifetime Likes’, and ‘Monthly Active Users’ under ‘Users’, and ‘Post Views’ and ‘Post Feedback’ under ‘Interactions&rsquo. The default time frame is the past month, which can be changed to the past week or to a custom date range. You can export this data to a CSV or Excel file.

Users: This subsection provides more-detailed information about the page visitors, such as gender, age, location, and referrers. In the screenshot above, for example, you can see that most of the page’s visitors are male, and between the ages of 25 and how do i create a facebook account for my business, and from the United States. Interactions: This subsection provides statistics on post views, post feedback, number of views per post for the previous month, and activity on the page. If visitors aren’t allowed to post on the page, no data will appear under the page activity section.

You should now see the benefits of having a Facebook page for your business and have the information you need to create a custom page with your own branding. How to create a Facebook business page

1. Go to the Facebook website and log in to your account.

3. Click the Create New Page button in the menu on the left.

4. On the left side of the next screen,enter a Page name, select a Category, and write a Description. The right side of the page shows you a preview of your page as you add information to it.

5. Scroll down and click Create Page

6. Next you can add images. Click Add Profile Picture or Add Cover Photo to upload photos from your device. Hit Save at the bottom.

7. A pop-up may appear asking if you want to connect your page to WhatsApp. If you want to, enter your phone number and click Send Code. If you don't want to, click the "X" icon in the top-right corner of the pop-up. 

8. Your new Facebook page is now created, and you can continue customizing it to your liking. 

Additional set-up tips 

Before you write your page's first post, be sure to update your page with additional information for your business.

1. Make a call to action

Add a call-to-action button to your business page by clicking Add a Button at the top-right of your page. Choose an action from the available options. You can have visitors book appointments, contact you through Facebook Messenger, download your app, and more.

2. Choose a page username

Choose a page username by clicking Create @username under your cover photo and page name. This username will become the web address for your business page (e.g. facebook.com/businessinsider).

3. Enter upcoming events

To add upcoming public events, click the Events tab at the top of your page and select Create New Event in the top-right of the Upcoming Events section.

Quick tip: Make it easy for your future fans to find information about your business's scheduled events. Fans of your page can show interest in your events by clicking a button to indicate their intention to attend.

4. Update the About section

To get to the About section, click the More tab at the top of your page, beneath your page name. In the More drop-down, select About. Here you can add a location, business hours, price range, contact information, and more.

5. Add page roles

In the sidebar menu on the left, click Settings, then click Page roles to assign roles to other coworkers or brand managers.

6. Explore publishing tools

Facebook has built-in scheduling tools that allow you to plan and publish your posts according to a schedule of your choosing. These tools help you automate the process of posting updates. You can save draft versions of your posts here as well.

7. Convert a personal profile to a business page

If you have been using a personal Facebook profile for your business, you can convert it to a business page using Facebook's conversion wizard. 

While the process is called a conversion, it actually copies your personal profile to a page. Your personal profile will remain intact and a new page based on that profile will be created. You can update the newly created page as you would a page created from scratch.

8. Select page visibility

Facebook pages are published as soon as they are created. This means an incomplete page would be visible to the public as soon as it's created. 

If you would prefer to work on your page in private before making it available to the public, you can update its visibility from the page settings menu — click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar menu on the left, how do i create a facebook account for my business on the General tab, click Page visibility to unpublish your page.

This will prevent the page from being available until you're ready to publish it again. Remember to update the visibility setting when you are ready to publish it.

How to Link Instagram to Facebook Business Page

In this post, we will show you a step by step guide on how to link an Instagram account to a Facebook page.

The Instagram API requires you to add an Instagram account to a Facebook Page you are an admin or editor on, in order to use third-party platforms to generate your Instagram stories.

In order to allow the EmbedStories platform to collect your Instagram stories, you will need to connect your Instagram profile with a Facebook page. This is an official API requirement of the Facebook/Instagram platform.

To fetch Instagram stories you will need to provide permissions to a Facebook account that is an admin to a Facebook page that is connected with the Instagram profile from where you want to generate Instagram stories.

Depending on the Facebook page interface you as a user has at this moment (old or new), below are two tutorials.

Important: Your Facebook account need to have the admin role to manage the Facebook page that you want to connect with an Instagram profile.

Option 1: Link Instagram account through the new Facebook Page interface

Here are the steps on how to connect an Instagram profile with a Facebook page for users who have the old Facebook interface:

Step 1: Open your Facebook page and click ‘Page Settings’ in the bottom left corner

Step 2: In the left-hand menu choose Instagram and click ‘Connect Account’

Step 3: A popup will appear where you need to login to your Instagram profile and once you log in, follow the steps to convert the Instagram profile to a Business / professional profile.

Once finished you will receive a success message ‘You’ve switched to a business account on Instagram’.

If you still do not see the Instagram accounts on the list, contact us for additional help.

That’s it, now you have linked accounts.

Step 4: Go back to EmbedStories, and in the Accounts page and click ‘Refresh’ (if you’ve just created an account in the setup process then you can click ‘Refresh Accounts’ in the Select Source page, as shown below.)

Once the page refreshes, it will show your Instagram account in the table.

Step 5: To create your Instagram stories widget and start generating the stories just select the profile and click ‘Create midland states bank routing number rockford il note: that you can have multiple Facebook pages connected to different Instagram accounts, that EmbedStories can sync and generate the related Instagram stories.

Option 2: Link Instagram account to Facebook page through the old Facebook Page interface

If for some reason you need to connect your Instagram business account to another Facebook page managed with the same Facebook profile, or unlink account, just follow the steps below:

  • Open the Instagram app, go to your Instagram profile and tap ‘Edit profile’
  • In ‘Public Business information’ section tap on Page
  • In the list just select different Facebook page and tap Done in the top-right corner

Share Instagram photos and stories on Facebook Page

This is the same step by step if you ever want to link Facebook with an Instagram account in order to share Instagram posts to a Facebook Page directly.

This way you will publish the same content from the Instagram mobile app (for both iPhone or Android) directly on your Facebook Page as a Facebook post at the same time.

Just follow the instructions outlined above that will help you to basically convert a personal account to post directly on a Facebook page for business purposes.

Once this is connected to share new posts you will get an option to select the Facebook Page before you tap Share on the last screen in the Instagram sharing flow.
