Scholarship Vs Fellowship: WHAT You Need To Know

A scholarship is a money given by the government or another organisation to students who meet the conditions established by the granting authorities. Fellowship, on the other hand, is a grant given to scholars to help them in their research. To get the most out of their higher education, all students must understand the distinction between scholarships and fellowships. This is the case because the two provide financial support to applicants. What is a Fellowship? An academic fellowship allows graduate students to earn additional graduate and postgraduate (sometimes undergraduate) research experience without breaking the bank. Some fellowships have few or no job obligations, while others function more like internships for graduate students. These opportunities can help graduate students improve their resumes money, thus graduate students who are eligible should apply for such grants. Fellowships are often merit-based prizes, with individuals with excellent GPAs and promising careers given priority. Types of Fellowships Fellowships are nearly generally financial gifts associated with working in a specific subject, but their makeup can vary greatly. For example, a doctorate programme is available to PhD students in order to fund proposed research in order to develop their speciality. M.D. Fellowships are available to medical students who choose to pursue advanced education Heart care, women's health, and paediatrics are examples of specialities. Humanitarian groups frequently provide fellowships to graduate students who are launching or researching community-based initiatives. Benefits Provided by Fellowships Fellowships provide incentives, but they are not usually monetary. Although monetary prizes are the most prevalent, fellows frequently get between $ 5,000 and $ 50,000 per year in addition to living allowances that include travel expenses. Common fellowship supplemental benefits include health insurance, free housing, Stipend for family members, and so on. Fellows in the Fellowships, like internships, benefit from experiential learning and continuous research. Students with strong research or work components can gain a sense of responsibility beyond the entry-level position in the subject, as well as create the linkages required for future employment. Finding Fellowship Opportunities Finding community typically necessitates some effort. Because not all fellowships are advertised, you should conduct your own research or inquire with your mentors about these opportunities. Through educational discussions targeted on Fellowship, the school's financial assistance staff may occasionally point students in the correct route. With many Fellowships, online research can go a long way published on the internet. Schools and other agencies may also post-fellowship opportunities online. Applying for Fellowships Fellowships are quite competitive, so make sure you submit an attractive application that will not be relegated to the bottom of the pile. Generally, organizations seek excellent academic achievers, community service leaders, dedicated honorary students, and skilled researchers. Allow your motivation and self-direction to shine through. Do not be surprised if the project takes longer than two months to finish. Fill out the application and the supporting materials. A curriculum vitae or resume, an official transcript, a letter of recommendation, and a research proposal are usually required. It is also usual to take part in panel interviews with members of the selection committee. What is a Scholarship? A scholarship is a programme that is offered for the purpose of assisting students with their outcomes. It is generally directed at students who aspire to study at the tertiary level, which includes universities and colleges. Many students quit out after finishing secondary school/grade 12 because they cannot afford university education, which is very expensive. Their dreams simply fade and are forgotten not met, some have a very good qualification, meet the basic standards for admission to institutions, but cannot afford to continue their studies owing to a terrible experience SCHOLARSHIP is available to help bridge the gap. Differences between Scholarship and Fellowship Universities, research institutes, educational institutions, laboratories, governments, and foundations establish scholarships and fellowships. But what are the distinctions between them? The main difference between scholarship and fellowship The most essential distinction between “scholarship” and “fellowship” is that “scholarship” invariably implies “financial aid.” As a result, there is no such thing as a "scholarship" without "financial help." The term "financial aid" might refer to "tuition," "daily costs," "living allowance," or other sorts of assistance, but it always refers to money. In most circumstances, “financial aid” is offered in the case of “fellowship,” although it is not required to presume that the term is “financial aid.” For example, if someone receives a "scholarship" to study at the University of Ohio or conduct research at NASA, it signifies that the person has gotten money to study or conduct research. When a study is published by MIT or Harvard University, when a university, laboratory, or foundation offers a scholarship to a student, researcher, or undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate student, it means that the university, laboratory, or foundation will always cover some or all of the costs of study or research. Other differences between scholarships and fellowships are Before college and undergraduate studies, you can apply for a "Scholarship" at school, but there is no fellowship at that level. The same can be said of undergraduate academic studies. All "financial aid" provided to undergraduate students at the institution is referred to as a "scholarship," and it can be renewed in rare circumstances when referring to research activity, the term "fellowship" should be used. “Scholarships” are given to students, whereas “Fellowships” are usually given to those with expertise. For example, if you look up "scholarships for journalists," you'll get a lot of results. Scholarships and fellowships are frequently used interchangeably, which causes confusion sometimes they signify the same thing and sometimes they don't. I hope this simple explanation of the distinction between scholarship and fellowship is useful.

    So sad

The PNC banking part is great a little slow yet saves me time from running back & forth to the bank on one hand now on another note, ever since they linked my Zelle account to my PNC my Zelle receiving and sending has been giving me major issues which results in me having to once again go back & forth to the bank with an edition to the Post Office got money orders, stamps, & envelopes so now I’m spending more in gas, as well as getting the money to it’s destination. I call for a representative one even told me call Zelle it’s not in their end that the message I received says failed to send so I call then Zelle ask me why they directed me to cAll them being they have control over the account since it’s linked to the PNC, nevertheless the funds I sent is taken out my PNC and won’t return until I believe it said 3 business days. Another PNC rep said delete the app then try to download it again hmmm ok nope that didn’t work neither. So bottom line I’m Very disappointed in their Zelle merge. I can’t even delete it and make a new account. Thanks for nothing on that merge. Otherwise the PNC itself I do like

Took a step back with last update.

I could give 5 stars for convenience and general reliability. But the last update, while making the app more snazzy, also made it less convenient. Cool new graphics and slick transitions were added. Looks cool guys. But takes longer to load each page. I don’t need to be entertained by my banking app - just need to make an online deposit or pay a bill. Here’s an example of inconvenient: making a mobile deposit. Lots of sliding around of graphics with every selection I make. I finally get the deposit made and then there’s the confirmation screen. The top 1/3 of the screen contains a blue bar with a giant “+” sign in it. Below that is the deposit information. Where’s the confirm button? Took me a while to figure out I have to scroll down to see it. Maybe a little smaller graphic on top would allow me to see the whole thing on one screen. And maybe instead of all the flashy graphics after every selection (deposit, account, amount...) all that could be on one screen and then the flashy stuff could come after, and just once. Bill pay is much the same. Looks cool but is a waste of time.

Functionally, convenience-wise, reliability-wise — I love having the app and it serves me well. I could just do without all the fru-fru.

Only bank with a good and consistent digital interface

In general, I am very happy that there have been minimal changes to the website and digital interfaces in the 15 years I have been a NationalCity/PNC customer. The interface works well and I have rarely had to think hard about how to navigate menus to get the information I want. Recently, however, when I use this, I feel like I am back in the days of 56k modems where the images for advertisements would load after the rest of the webpage would load and you would accidentally click on something because all of the content would move and an advertisement image would appear right as you were about to click. I thought this practice was long gone from good user interface design, but evidently it is still here every time the COVID relief banner at the top of the app decides to load. Now, every 1 out of 2 times that I try to click on my checking account when I load the main page of the app, I accidentally open a webpage for COVID relief that I have to close. Very annoying. Please keep up the good work of having a consistent user interface design, but also please stop making it so content unexpectedly shifts around right as I am about to click when the main page loads.

23 Banks Helping Customers Affected by Coronavirus

Staying healthy and slowing the spread of COVID-19 is still the top priority in most people's minds -- and rightfully so. But as businesses continue to close due to social distancing restrictions, concerns over financial security continue to grow.

In these unprecedented times, we're seeing some unprecedented levels of assistance coming from neighbors, the federal government, and now from banks. The following 23 institutions have all pledged their support to customers who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 closures. Some banks are deferring fees or offering good rates on personal loans. All are ready to work with each person and family to come up with fair solutions.

    1. Ally Bank

Ally Bank is enabling its home and auto loan borrowers to defer payments for up to 120 days. Your balance will continue to accrue interest during this time, but Ally will not charge late fees or report your payments as late to the credit bureaus. You must first call Ally if you intend to take advantage of this option. Ally is also suspending fees for excessive transactions, overdrafts, and expedited checks and debit cards on savings and money market accounts until July 31, 2020. In addition, the bank has pledged $3 million to address emergency needs in its communities.

    2. Bank of America

Bank of America has created a Client Assistance Program for credit card and loan customers struggling to keep up with their payments. They can request payment deferral through their online account or by phone as well as refunds for overdraft fees, non-sufficient funds fees, and monthly maintenance fees. It has also announced that it's donating $100 million to local communities in need and another $250 million to community development financial institutions during the COVID-19 outbreak.

    3. BBVA USA

BBVA USA is offering deferred payments to credit card and loan customers who fill out its Payment Assistance Request form online. It's also waiving its fees for using a non-BBVA ATM, and it's waiving all early withdrawal penalties on certificate of deposits (CDs) opened before March 1. If you were recently charged an overdraft fee on your BBVA account, you can request a refund by contacting BBVA.

    4. BMO Harris

BMO Harris is also enabling its affected customers to defer payments on loans and credit cards without late fees. You must fill out its online form or contact the bank by phone in order to take advantage of this assistance. The online form is the fastest method because BMO Harris, like most banks, is experiencing unusually high call volumes at this time.

    5. Capital One

Capital One is another bank that is encouraging affected customers to reach out by phone if they are unable to keep up with their payments. Options include minimum payment assistance, deferred payments on loans, and waived fees. Capital One, like many of its competitors, is handling things on a case-by-case basis, so you won't know what kind of assistance you may qualify for until you call.

    6. Chase

Chase is enabling customers with car leases to request a six-month lease extension or do a lease-end vehicle return when their lease ends. Credit card holders and other loan borrowers are also eligible for loan deferment. You can enroll in these assistance programs online or by calling Chase. In addition to offering its customers assistance, Chase has also pledged $50 million to nonprofit organizations to support Americans' short- and long-term needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    7. CIT Bank

Online-only CIT Bank encourages customers with deposit accounts and mortgages to reach out if they have been impacted by COVID-19. The bank's new temporary hours are between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Eastern Time Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time Saturday, so you must contact it within these hours to receive support.

    8. Citibank

Citibank is waiving fees on safe deposit boxes and fees for non-Citi ATM usage, and if you need to withdraw money from a Citibank CD early, you can now do so penalty-free. Those who have credit cards and personal loans through the bank can request payment deferral for up to two statement cycles. Regulators claimed that National City had violated the Fair Housing Act and Equal Credit Opportunity Act by charging more than 75,000 borrowers higher loan rates based on their race or ethnicity rather than their risk level. National City's lack of pricing guidelines resulted in black borrowers being charged an average of $159 more in extra upfront fees or higher interest than white borrowers. Black borrowers also paid an average of $228 more annually over the life of the loan than white borrowers. Hispanics paid $125 more upfront and $154 more annually than white borrowers. Under the terms of the settlement, PNC was required to pay victims $35 million.[71]

Retailer breach forced PNC to reissue customer cards[edit]

    Overtime claim by loan officers[edit]

In 2017, PNC agreed to pay $16 million to settle claims of overtime wages by loan officers under the Fair Labor Standards Act.[75]

    National Prearranged Services Fraud[edit]

PNC Bank is the successor to Allegiant Bank, which served as a trustee for NPS from 1998 to 2004. In 2012, PNC opened the PNC Fairfax Connection, a community center in Cleveland, Ohio.[81]

    Controversies[edit]

    Mountaintop mining[edit]

The Earth Quaker Action Team, led by George Lakey, requested that PNC divest in mountaintop mining projects in March 2010. The Quakers were especially sensitive to PNC's investments, as it was informally referred to as "The Quaker Bank", due to the fact that Provident Life & Trust Company had been founded by Quakers.[82] After the bank ignored their request, EQAT began to protest. On 29 September 2010, EQAT along with some Swarthmore College students, members of the Rainforest Action Network and Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping protested at a PNC bank in Washington, D.C. by building a small mountain made of dirt. Police arrested the leader George Lakey and three others. "In October of 2010, PNC announced that they would stop loaning money to companies that gained over 50% of their coal from mountaintop removal. However, none of the companies with which PNC conducted business produced that much coal via mountaintop removal, and thus the new policy did not represent change. Soon after the bank’s new commitment, PNC gave money to Massey Energy, a company found responsible for poor safety conditions that led to the deaths of thirty-one miners in April 2009. Unsatisfied by PNC’s ineffective policy, EQAT staged another protest on 17 December 2010. Protesters sang Christmas carols while delivering stockings full of coal to a PNC Bank in Media, Pennsylvania."[83]

Students at Temple University and Swarthmore College held sit-ins to protest the bank, and EQAT next protested PNC by conducting Quaker-style worship (sitting in silence until let to speak) during a shareholders meeting in D.C. "At the end of the meeting, the activists gave a gift bag to CEO James Rohr with a framed picture of the Appalachian Mountains and a pamphlet about the dangers of mountaintop removal."[84]

Over time, protests became more and more elaborate and creative. On September 22, 2011, EQAT charged PNC with "impersonating a green bank" and held a trial in the PNC lobby. Two weeks later, they held a "die-in" alongside activists from Occupy Philadelphia, where protesters acted dead by laying on the floor of a PNC bank. On December 6, 2011, police arrested five EQAT members for constructing windmills (a clean alternative to coal) inside of the downtown PNC bank. In February 2012, EQAT convinced various Quaker groups to withdraw nearly two million dollars (later increased to over three million) invested with PNC, and in April of that year, EQAT along with students from various colleges, protested by dancing to bluegrass music next to the University of Pennsylvania’s PNC campus branch. On April 30, 2012, EQAT members began a 200-mile walk from Philadelphia to the PNC Bank headquarters in Pittsburgh. EQAT held a series of protests at PNC branches along the way.[85] In October 2012, activist students began to approach PNC bank managers, asking them to drink well shore community bank nj from affected communities in Appalachia.[citation needed]

On March 14, 2013, EQAT members began a collective 40-day fast (not all members fasted the entire time), making their fasts public through social media. During the fast, members publicly protested dressed in traditional Quaker costumes when the Philadelphia Chamber of Congress awarding PNC's J. William Mills with the William Penn Award. The fast ended on 23 April with a worship session in the middle of a PNC shareholder meeting. On October 21, 2013, EQAT staged the largest bank branch protest in U.S. history. Activists protested by holding silent worship inside sixteen PNC bank branches, most of which were in Pittsburgh, leading many of the branches to shut down for the day. Seven protesters were arrested by Pittsburgh police after refusing to leave.[citation needed]

By 2014, the movement had spread across the country. Protesters again held Quaker pnc bank car loan contact inside of the PNC shareholders meeting, despite the fact that the location had been moved to Tampa, Florida. On December 6, 2014, thirty protests were held in branches across twelve states.[86] Finally in February 2015, after five years and 125 separate protests, PNC Bank announced it would officially stop investing in mountaintop removal coal mining.[87]

PNC Bank - PNC makes it impossible to make loan payments on line

I haven't had the issue described by renno80 with my PNC auto loan, but I will say this: PNC has the worst online support when it comes to reviewing my loan account out of any bank I've ever used.

You cannot just login to the normal PNC banking site and get your loan information. There is a completely different site where you can get your current payoff, but that's about it.

You have to enter your loan account number every friggin time you use it. I checked just now and here it is:

        https://pncpaymentoptions.com/security/login

I mean, look at the domain name! Sure, it has "PNC" in the name, but otherwise it looks like a friggin scam domain. Why isn't this on the normal PNC.COM domain?

Well, because PNC is pretty *** when it comes to online support. They have another domain similar to this for their mortgage customers.

And you can't find either of these sites on the PNC.COM site. PNC really needs to incorporate all these sites under one roof.

Types of Fellowships Fellowships are nearly pnc bank car loan contact financial gifts associated with working in a specific subject, but their makeup can vary greatly. Differences between Scholarship and Fellowship Universities, research institutes, educational institutions, laboratories, governments, and foundations establish scholarships and fellowships. But what are the distinctions between them? The main difference between scholarship and fellowship The most essential distinction between “scholarship” and “fellowship” is pnc bank car loan contact “scholarship” invariably implies “financial aid.” Pnc bank car loan contact a result, there is no such thing as a "scholarship" without "financial help." The term "financial aid" might refer to "tuition," "daily costs," "living allowance," or other sorts of assistance, but it always refers to money. “Scholarships” are given to students, whereas “Fellowships” are usually given to those how much to open a capital one 360 checking account expertise. If your car loan lender repossessed your car, van, truck, motorcycle, or other vehicle and you want it back, you'll have to act quickly.

If your auto lender repossessed your car, van, truck, motorcycle, or other vehicle and you want it back, you have several options. You may:

        • redeem the car or reinstate the loan (if allowed in your state or by contract)
        • wait until the sale and attempt to bid on the vehicle at auction, or
        • negotiate with the lender to try to get the car back.

But whatever you do, you must act quickly; otherwise, you'll lose the opportunity to get the vehicle back. There's no hard and fast rule on how much time you have to get a car back before the lender sells it. Generally speaking, the lender must give you notice that allows a "reasonable time" prior to the sale for you to react and exercise your options. At least ten days' notice is usually considered reasonable. Your state's law may also be more specific about the timing of notices. For example, California requires at least 15 days' notice before the sale.

Time Period to Redeem the Vehicle

You can usually redeem the car at any time prior to the private sale or auction. To redeem, you pay the entire loan balance plus certain costs and fees. The notice of sale—which the lender should have sent you—will contain information about what you need pnc bank car loan contact do to redeem, including a telephone number for you to call to find out the payoff amount and how to make payment.

The lender is required to send you this notice shortly after it repossesses the vehicle. Some states, like California, require notice within 48 hours after repossession. Regardless of the timing, the lender must give you written notice that gives you the information you need to exercise your right to redeem within a reasonable time before the car is sold.

During the redemption period, the lender may report the fact that the car was repossessed to the credit reporting agencies. If you redeem, your credit reports should be updated to reflect that information. But the report could also still indicate that the vehicle had been repossessed.

Time Period to Reinstate (If Applicable)

If you're allowed to reinstate the loan by state law or by the terms of your loan agreement, then you might have even less time to act. To reinstate the loan, you pay off the overdue amounts, plus certain costs and fees, to bring the loan current.

State laws vary on the amount of time you have to reinstate the loan. Typically, you're allowed only 15 days after the repossession to reinstate the loan. If your right of reinstatement is based on the loan agreement, then the time period might be more or less, depending on what the agreement says.

        Be Proactive in Getting Information

If more than five days have passed since the repossession and you still haven't received a notice from the lender, don't wait any longer. Contact the lender and obtain the information you need to redeem, reinstate, or bid on the car before it is sold.

What If the Lender Sold the Car Without Giving You Notice?

If the lender didn't give you a required notice before selling the car, you could use this as a defense if it tries to get a deficiency judgment against you. If you have questions about your rights and options, consider talking to a local debt relief lawyer.
